2003 - #231's Inaugural Trip

Locomotive #231 took part in ceremonies for the grand opening of southeast Portland's Springwater Trail on June 27-28, 2003. Shortly after being preserved from scrap, this would mark its inaugural trip and first public display, as it led the way from Brooklyn Yard to the Oregon Pacific Railroad yard in SE Portland, Oregon.
